Similar to many games of this genre, Asphalt Overdrive incorporates an energy system, limiting the number of runs you can play at a time. You can either wait for your energy to replenish or choose to pay to continue playing. Additionally, you'll need to replay levels to earn more stars and progress through the game's different levels, known as "turfs."

As you progress in Asphalt Overdrive, you'll have the opportunity to upgrade your car and unlock new ones using in-game currency earned during challenges. The game offers a wide selection of classic 80s cars, making the unlocking process enjoyable and nostalgic.

The controls in Asphalt Overdrive are simple and intuitive. Swiping left and right changes lanes, swiping upwards provides air on ramps, and swiping diagonally on a ramp allows you to perform barrel rolls in the air. Additionally, strategic decision-making comes into play as you choose boosts that can be advantageous for specific race types.

Asphalt Overdrive's presentation is top-notch, with a vibrant 80s theme reflected in the neon-filled menu screens, the nostalgic soundtrack, and the retro cars themselves. However, some players may feel that the game could have gone further in capturing the intense feel of the 80s, similar to the iconic GTA Vice City.

Despite its minor drawbacks, such as grinding, load times, and paywalls, Asphalt Overdrive is an incredibly enjoyable game. While it may not satisfy hardcore driving sim enthusiasts, it is perfect for quick gaming sessions on the go or during downtime.
